Lucy ♥ Desi "You are home"

♥ THE GREATEST LOVE STORY OF ALL TIME ♥

This is a blog completely dedicated to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. They were married for nearly 20 years and even though they divorced in 1960 they never stopped loving each other.

Here you'll find quotes, photos from their hit TV show I Love Lucy, photos from their private life, gifs, videos, scans etc.

"I loved her very much and, in my own and perhaps peculiar way, I will always love her. "

"Desi was the great love of my life. I will miss him until the day I die."

airlingss asked:
Who did Desi cheat on Lucy with? Was it ever discovered? :'( it makes me so upset for Lucy.

When Lucy and Desi first met he was supposedly going between Lana Turner, Betty Grable + + he was also seeing someone he decided to name Freckles in his autobio at the time. It was rather serious, also because she didn’t expect him to stay away from other women. He felt that she understood him and didn’t complain and didn’t ask questions, wasn’t jealous etc. But after spending more time with Lucy he knew he had to break it off. Lucy was the love of his life. After that he didn’t date anyone as he did before Lucy. He went out with hookers and to him that was different. I’m not saying it’s right, but to him it was okay. In his culture it was okay. And honestly Lucy’s biggest problem in the marriage wasn’t that. I have said this repeatedly but I’ll say it again; I honestly believe she would have tolerated that. It was the drinking that did it. When Desi got really stressed running the studio, producing shows, being a part of their own and all that he started drinking and it got to be a huge problem.

I hope this helps you out a little.

Hi! Your blog is an absolute dream for any Lucy & Desi fan! I was wondering if you knew about any of the reasons for some of their fights? I know Lucy mentioned 'booze & broads" but like a specific reason. They were always fighting and Im curious.

Thank you! :)

Lucy and Desi were very different and they were both quite temperamental and most of their arguments came from that. They’d blow up easily and make up just as easily for the most part, but once Desi started drinking everything fell apart. It seems Lucy more or less learned to live with his philandering, but she couldn’t take the drinking and the rage that followed. (And just to make one thing clear right away, he never abused her. I don’t even know where that rumor comes from because no one can ever give me a source (lol) but I’ve read enough to say I’ve never read anything where it’s even been suggested that he hit her so people need to stop saying that. )

They were so in love tho and never stopped loving each other so that’s why they are so special and I think if they had quit in time (sold the studio - calmed down) the divorce could have been avoided. But I guess everything happens for a reason. I hope this answered your question.
