Lucy ♥ Desi "You are home"

♥ THE GREATEST LOVE STORY OF ALL TIME ♥

This is a blog completely dedicated to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. They were married for nearly 20 years and even though they divorced in 1960 they never stopped loving each other.

Here you'll find quotes, photos from their hit TV show I Love Lucy, photos from their private life, gifs, videos, scans etc.

"I loved her very much and, in my own and perhaps peculiar way, I will always love her. "

"Desi was the great love of my life. I will miss him until the day I die."

I have a question.. I'm watching ILL on my DVR right now and I was wondering, do you know why they changed Lillian Applebee's name to Carolyn?

In Doris Singleton’s own words: “I started out as Lillian Appleby on the show, but then Lucy decided she didn’t like that. She wanted me to use my own name, but I didn’t like that. So she said, “OK, you’re Caroline Appleby and your husband’s name is Charley.” And my husband’s name really is Charley. She said, “At least that I can remember!”

I heart your blog. You've done a beautiful job celebrating this couple. I watched I Love Lucy on the weekends as a teen. (I was forever enamored with the moment when Ricky tells Richard Widmark that everyone has problems, then looks at Lucy and points to her as his problem... "but I love her." I thought it captured perfectly why their relationship worked.) I've just started watching again, thanks to the Hallmark channel's mini-marathons. What's your absolute favorite Ricky&Lucy moment?

That’s hard. Obviously Lucy is Enceinte but I also love Hollywood Anniversary. (Mostly because of the kiss at the end) I don’t think anything can really beat the true emotions that came to the surface in Lucy is Enceinte tho.

Do you know which episode it is when Lucy is in her blue stripe pjama's looking in the mirror, complaining about the way she looks, then Ricky comes up and says something that makes her smile. I can't remember which episode it is :S Thanks so much for your blog, its bought me great joy and tears xx

I think you mean Ricky Thinks He’s Getting Bald.

I adore your blog so so so much. Quick question, did Lucy and Desi have a second marriage? And didn't Lucy want to get back together with Desi and cancel the divorce. What happened? x

Thank you :)

They were married twice, but the second one wasn’t due to a divorce. They decided to marry in a church in hopes of getting children, as suggested by Desi’s mother. She felt all the miscarriages Lucy had been having were a result of the the fact that their first marriage didn’t take place under the eyes of God.

Lucy did however file for divorce in 1944, but since she walked out of court and went straight to bed with Desi, the divorce was automatically cancelled.

Their divorce in 1960 was very final for both of them. I think they felt there was no going back after that, but they missed and loved each other all their lives. At one point Lucy wanted to call Desi while doing stage work in New York, but she finally decided not to.

I just wanted to thank you for making this blog. I remember seeing I Love Lucy as a little girl on Nick at Nite but as of recently in the early morning on the Hallmark Channel I've started to watch it here and there. It's nice to know that there are blogs out there that say heckyeah instead of something else and I'm glad I found your blog since starting to watch I Love Lucy!

Thank you for the compliment! I’m happy to know you enjoy my blog <3
